Transparency: how we work with artificial intelligence

Net Trends uses AI-assisted tools where they improve our work: for research, analysing large volumes of documents, translations, writing, editing, and creating images and graphics. This applies to almost every text.

What AI does not do for us: No article is published without a human having read, checked and approved it. Facts, quotations and sources are verified independently. Editorial responsibility always lies with a named person, never with a system.

Images and graphics that were generated entirely or substantially by AI are labelled directly on the image.

Legal framework: Under Article 50(4) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the EU Artificial Intelligence Act, AI Act), the labelling obligation does not apply to texts that are subject to editorial control and for which a natural person bears responsibility. We meet this requirement. We nevertheless provide this information voluntarily, because you should know how the journalism you finance is produced.
